IT WAS HIS LOVE

Image
T'was my sin cord that led Christ to the cross, T'was his love cord that held him on the cross, Where he paid the price and suffered; The bound sacrifice was offered, Unto God that I might from sin be freed.  Once a selfish man I pondered, About selfless Christ I wondered, How on earth a man should choose to die alone? Separated from his Father,  Left in darkness, just to gather, Scattered folks whose sins he came to atone? Never was it human weakness,  Not was it 'cos he was friendless, That he gave his head, his sides, his hands, his feet - To the nails he was willing, Cup of suffering he was drinking, For my sins a perfect sacrifice was meet - Bleeding from his offered fullness, Crucified without a witness, Up he hung, down he looked and loud he cried! How he said "forgive them Father, For their sake he'll take the slander Then he sighed, freely bled and so he died! So dear friend present your bodies, To this Saviour, all your goodies, Crucified with him be dead...

WATCH ON YOUR WATCH!!!

Image
Matthew 26:41 "Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation..." Beware of slothfulness lest you lose all that you had built in the period of your zealousness. Beware of coldness lest all the genial glow of your period of fervency and enthusiasm be frozen. Beware of the artful act of the archfiend lest he colonizes your thought pattern and leaves your heart fallow. Beware of not watching lest the devil gets hold of your watch and obstruct you from getting from the throne of grace. Beware of worldliness lest you are thrown down from the apex of the Divine life you have attained. Beware of lean prayers lest the fat of your comfort and peace be eaten up by gentle cool breeze blown by the enemy of your soul. Beware of neglecting prayers lest you lose all the spirituality and fervency you have attained. Beware lest the caterpillar of licentiousness, cankerworms of indifference and the palmerworms of permissive will lay your heart desolate, and your soul languish. Beware lest y...

I WANT MY SON BACK!

Image
Mrs Sandra Wesley was married to Mr James Wesley and they were blessed with three children; Peter, Joanna and Lucas. Peter, being the eldest was 18 and he was just a young boy about to finish secondary school. Unknown to Mrs Wesley, Peter had joined a group of occult boys and they had planned to initiate him into the cult. Sometimes in school, Peter had sneaked out with his friends to meet in an uncompleted building where they practised occultism (since they couldn’t meet at night yet) Mrs Wesley had always warned and taught her children the ways of God. Every morning during their daily devotion, she would always teach them not to follow bad friends and to fear God; little did she know that young Peter was already caught up in the web.  Days passed by and Peter was to be initiated officially into the cult, but this had to be done at night. Peter sought ways to leave the house but couldn’t find a genuine excuse to tell his parents. So he conspired with his friend to lie to his paren...

THE YOKE IS BROKEN!

Image
Old Peter kept in prison, And chained with fetters two; But then t'was Easter season, And Herod knew that too; Just before when he'd have them slay, The saints combined to pray; The yokes all were broken and he was set free As Joseph blessed with better, Was stressed in life we're told; His feet they hurt with fetter, And laid in Iron hold; Till when heaven's word was sent to him, To fetch when hope was dim; Your yoke now is broken, and now you are free The feet of Paul and Brother, Were fastened to the stock; But yet they did not bother, On heaven's door they'll knock; And then suddenly was a bang That midnight when they sang: "Our yokes are all broken and we are made free" Addictions and bad habit, Soul ties that God didn't choose; Occultic oaths that limit, Are bands that He can loose; The Anointing of God's Son within, Still makes men free from sin; For Yokes are still broken and lives can be free The Wicked's snare is broken, Our sou...

COME TO JESUS AND BE HEALED!

Image
And a woman having an issue of blood twelve years, which had spent all her living upon physicians, neither could be healed of any, Came behind him, and touched the border of his garment: and immediately her issue of blood stanched.  And Jesus said, Who touched me? When all denied, Peter and they that were with him said, Master, the multitude throng thee and press thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me? And Jesus said, Somebody hath touched me: for I perceive that virtue is gone out of me. And when the woman saw that she was not hid, she came trembling, and falling down before him, she declared unto him before all the people for what cause she had touched him, and how she was healed immediately.  And he said unto her, Daughter, be of good comfort: thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace. Luke 8:43 - 48.  Are you suffering from any infirmity, disease or ailment?  Come to Jesus and be healed! Is it asthma, diabetes, cancer or body pain? Jesus has the cure for them al...

DISCHARGED AND ACQUITTED!

Image
One sunny Monday afternoon, Mr Jeff Smith was arrested by the cops for acts of theft and murder carried out in the neighborhood some three days ago. Everyone knew Jeff was a "bad man" but no one knew he was a armed robber killing and stealing from neighbours.  As soon as his case was filed in court, Jeff was asked to get himself an attorney but he had none. His family had left him 20 years ago because of his wayward life. He had no responsible friend that could help him at this time especially as the charges spelt out against him were almost true.  His case was charged to the court and a date fixed. After court formalities Jeff's case was presented for consideration. Several undeniable proofs of his guiltiness were made by witnesses who testified against him. Asked to defend himself, Jeff couldn't say a word but began to cry. He knew not what to say nor do but he didn't want to die too.  The court room was silent for about two minutes as echoes of Jeff's sobs ...

THE MISERY OF SIN

Image
O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death? Romans 7:24 Misery is an inseparable component and consequence of sin. The word "misery" implies great unhappiness, extreme pain of heart and trouble of mind.  Does this depict your present state?  Apostle Paul in the scripture once experienced that. Here's what he said; For I was alive without the law once: but when the commandment came, sin revived, and I died. And the commandment, which was ordained to life, I found to be unto death. For sin, taking occasion by the commandment, deceived me, and by it slew me. Romans 7: 9,11 A life spent in sin is full of misery.  That life of stealing, lust, bribery, prostitution, pornography and lying has nothing to offer you but restlessness and a troubled heart.  It may look enjoyable at first, but on the longrun sorrow evolves. Paul cried out in the scriptures; For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that do ...

BEYOND MERE EXISTENCE

Image
Why does it seem so easy To slowly grow so cold, To lose that fire we once had known That burned within our souls? We start to lose the joy And life becomes a bore, We just live from day to day With no hope in the Lord We give up on the dreams, We once had in our hearts, We settle down to mere existence Alone within the dark Oh God our spirits yearn To know you so much more, We don't want to just exist But know you as before To feel your presence in our lives And a new song on our lips, To walk in victory every day, O Lord, we long for this Come, O God, and touch us Ignite us once again, So we will burn with holy zeal, More than we had back then Fill us with your spirit, Lord, And we shall be renewed, So joy can be restored to us With brand-new hope in you. © By M.S.Lowndes
