EASE NOT THYSELF!

Image
O believer, Ease not thyself!  The race is long and far,  Tarry not in the dungeon of despair,  Lest your heart is worn out of repair.  Bend not to the outer cravings, For it will Ease your heart beat for Christ.  Daily beckon on fresh grace,  That your heart may be greener with grace,  Hearken not to the buzzling tempter, Lest he drains Christ's riches out of you.  Dance not to every music of your thought,  Lest you're taken to the den of the devil's thought,  Ease not, your inner cogitation about Christ Lest you're lost from Christ's fresh wisdom.  Ease not to bask in the Sun of Righteousness,  Lukewarmness is knocking at the door of your heart, to lurk in there,  Open not the door, instead cry for the dew of heaven to fall on your heart.  Your inner cry should be, "Oh Lord! Make not my soul, a wandering bird cast out of its nest, Let not my branches be stretched out over the sea and your gladness...

TILL I COME...

Mr and Mrs Bridget are proud parents of three children: John, Jerry and James. They all lived in a big house down the valley in the western part of the country. One Saturday afternoon, Mr Bridget got a call from his insurance company agent, asking him to report at the family house for an urgent meeting with the family heads to discuss issues pertaining his father's kingdom and prospects of his family after his retirement. The journey was proposed to take them about a week. After church service on Sunday, Mr Bridget called his three sons and informed them of the proposed journey with their mother first thing on Monday morning. Strange enough, he didn't tell them when he was going to come back, but he had made provisions for their feeding and also gave them some money for their upkeep. He also told them to meet the gateman, an elderly man, for comfort and other things they would need. Two weeks passed by, but Mr and Mrs Bridget didn't come back home. The boys had began to get...

HOLD FAST YOUR INTEGRITY!

Image
Integrity is an attribute of complete pureness and obedience to a given instruction. As Christians, daily, we will be faced with circumstances that suggests our refutal or negligence of the scriptural convictions and faith which we once professed. But we must never let it go! Despite Job's affliction, even God testified that he held fast his integrity.  Then said his wife unto him, Dost thou still retain thine integrity? curse God, and die. But he said unto her, Thou speakest as one of the foolish women speaketh. What? shall we receive good at the hand of God, and shall we not receive evil? In all this did not Job sin with his lips. Job 2:9-10 Using the letters of the word INTEGRITY , there are nine ways we need to hold fast our integrity. Let's look at them shortly: I- IDENTITY - As a child of God, Jesus is our Identity. We must therefore not be ashamed to proclaim Him in evangelism and letting others know our stand. Let everyone know that you're a child of God. Don't...

IT WAS HIS LOVE

Image
T'was my sin cord that led Christ to the cross, T'was his love cord that held him on the cross, Where he paid the price and suffered; The bound sacrifice was offered, Unto God that I might from sin be freed.  Once a selfish man I pondered, About selfless Christ I wondered, How on earth a man should choose to die alone? Separated from his Father,  Left in darkness, just to gather, Scattered folks whose sins he came to atone? Never was it human weakness,  Not was it 'cos he was friendless, That he gave his head, his sides, his hands, his feet - To the nails he was willing, Cup of suffering he was drinking, For my sins a perfect sacrifice was meet - Bleeding from his offered fullness, Crucified without a witness, Up he hung, down he looked and loud he cried! How he said "forgive them Father, For their sake he'll take the slander Then he sighed, freely bled and so he died! So dear friend present your bodies, To this Saviour, all your goodies, Crucified with him be dead...

WATCH ON YOUR WATCH!!!

Image
Matthew 26:41 "Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation..." Beware of slothfulness lest you lose all that you had built in the period of your zealousness. Beware of coldness lest all the genial glow of your period of fervency and enthusiasm be frozen. Beware of the artful act of the archfiend lest he colonizes your thought pattern and leaves your heart fallow. Beware of not watching lest the devil gets hold of your watch and obstruct you from getting from the throne of grace. Beware of worldliness lest you are thrown down from the apex of the Divine life you have attained. Beware of lean prayers lest the fat of your comfort and peace be eaten up by gentle cool breeze blown by the enemy of your soul. Beware of neglecting prayers lest you lose all the spirituality and fervency you have attained. Beware lest the caterpillar of licentiousness, cankerworms of indifference and the palmerworms of permissive will lay your heart desolate, and your soul languish. Beware lest y...

I WANT MY SON BACK!

Image
Mrs Sandra Wesley was married to Mr James Wesley and they were blessed with three children; Peter, Joanna and Lucas. Peter, being the eldest was 18 and he was just a young boy about to finish secondary school. Unknown to Mrs Wesley, Peter had joined a group of occult boys and they had planned to initiate him into the cult. Sometimes in school, Peter had sneaked out with his friends to meet in an uncompleted building where they practised occultism (since they couldn’t meet at night yet) Mrs Wesley had always warned and taught her children the ways of God. Every morning during their daily devotion, she would always teach them not to follow bad friends and to fear God; little did she know that young Peter was already caught up in the web.  Days passed by and Peter was to be initiated officially into the cult, but this had to be done at night. Peter sought ways to leave the house but couldn’t find a genuine excuse to tell his parents. So he conspired with his friend to lie to his paren...
